Piciorgros radio RTU modules are optionally available with PicoLogo firmware that enables them to function as autonomous micro-PLCs, making them suitable for a wide range of control applications. These radio RTU modules are available for conventional radio communication or TM GSM radio networking. PicoLogo Micro-PLC functions and features are compatible with Siemens LOGO micro-PLCs. These include 7 relay logic functions, 6 basic logic functions, 18 special functions, and 6 analog functions.

Among the available special functions are overhead tank filling and pump-changeover control. Another valuable feature is time-ofday scheduling for high/low electric energy tariff. These features are particularly suited to water and effluent treatment applications.

The GSM-4110 version can transmit alarm notifications and other operational information as SMS text messages to mobile handsets, or to a supervisory computer through a GSM modem.

PLC programming is done using PLE Graphic Editor, a Windows-based programming tool, or by creating and loading an instruction-list using an instruction-set similar to the "C" language. With the PLE Graphic Editor, it is possible to simulate the control circuit and control logic on-screen, before loading and running the PLC program on a PicoLogo enabled RTU.
